SUMMER INTERN AT ILLINOIS PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION

The Illinois Public Health Association is now accepting applicants for several summer internships working in the field of public health and emergency preparedness. The positions will be full-time for 12-weeks, based in Springfield, and will include a $3,500 stipend.
Candidates should have at least one-year college coursework in a public health related field, computer science or experience in emergency preparedness.

SUMMER INTERN DUTIES - OPR
Division of Disaster Planning and Readiness (Ridgely 4th Floor)
Maintain a status log (pending approval, in committee, approved) and organize documentation and materials produced by committees of the Health and Medical Preparedness Task Force for compilation into the Local Users Guide.
Develop a tracking spreadsheet to document exercise milestones accomplished by each LHD and review and enter information from LHD After Action Reports and Corrective Action Plans into the spreadsheet. Develop a report summarizing exercise milestones completed by LHDs.
Research and compile articles, as requested, for OPR Newsletter.
Compile and update ChemPack Contact Information
Maintain updated contact information for health and medical preparedness and response statewide entities.
Organize DPR Resource Room, inventorying and cataloguing all items, and developing a system/process for staff to check out and return materials.
Assist in maintaining LHD exercise and workplan spreadsheets
Other duties as needed
Division of EMS and Highway Safety (Ridgely 5th Floor)
Assist with the maintenance and input into the Ambulance Licensure Database. Work with division staff to ensure all needs are met around this project.
Work with vendor to ensure that upgrades are complete and troubleshoot issues that arise.
Organize and work on updates for the EMS System Plans, Trauma Plans and other resource documents maintained by the division.
Organize and create filing system for confidential materials kept in division
Attend trainings as needed
Deputy Director's Office (Ridgely 8th Floor)
Work with staff on the Annual Public Health Emergency Preparedness Summit that is in July.
Maintain update and materials on the Office link for the IDPH website.
Work with Fiscal division on Grant Tracking Database.
Maintain and update Inventory Tracking System
Assist with meeting logistics, hotel contracts/arrangements, and conference room scheduling.
