  • take the Illinois Certification Testing System test of Basic Skills by the December before application. A passing grade on this test is required before admission to the Teaching Education Minor in Secondary School Teaching.

Twelve hours of advanced-level (300- 400-level) courses in the major must be taken on this campus.

In addition to the requirements for the option listed above, students must complete the Teacher Education Minor in Secondary School Teaching (approximately 37 hours). See the College of Education for requirements of the minor. Conferral of the degree of Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences prior to completion of the minor requires approval by petition to the LAS Student Affairs Office. Most students will require ten semesters to complete this program.

Five-Year Plan

There is an original five year plan for students who entered prior to Fall 2007 and a revised five year plan (in two part: part 1, part 2) for students who entered Fall 2007 or later.
